Introduction

Thank you for downloading the latest version of Site24x7WindowsBulkInstallAgent.zip. The Site24x7WindowsBulkInstall.zip facilitates installing Site24x7 Windows agent in multiple machines via remote commands.

Prerequisites

• You need to have administrative privileges in the machine where you plan to do a bulk installation.
• All the servers should have remote access from the server where you are planning to run the bulk installation.

Getting Started

Site24x7WindowsBulkInstall.zip contain the files BulkInstall.vbs, RemCom.exe and hostnames.txt. The files should be extracted in the machine from where you choose to run the bulk installation. The above said files will be under a folder name Site24x7, when extracted.

The Procedure

• Download and save this Site24x7WindowsAgent.msi file in the same Site24x7 folder which you have extracted earlier. To download Site24x7WindowsAgent.msi file login to your Siite24x7 account and navigate to Home > New Monitor > Server Monitor > Windows and use the download link in the server monitoring introduction page.
• Go to the directory where you have downloaded the files via the Windows Command Prompt.
• In the Command Prompt execute the following command.
  cscript BulkInstall.vbs <DIR\hostnames.txt >
• Edit hostnames.txt file and enter the name of all the machines where the agent is going to be installed. Each manchine name should be entered in a seperate line.
• Replace <DIR> with the name of the directory where you have downloaded the files.
• Replace DOMAIN or WORKGROUP with the name of the associated domain name or workgroup.
• Replace username with username of the domain or workgroup
• Replace password with password of the domain or workgroup.
• Replace apikey with your unique API key specific to your account.
  Provide the API key when prompted. To generate an API key, login to Site24x7 account and navigate to Account > Generate API Key.
  
• If you have configured a proxy server, you may need to follow the below format.
  cscript bulkinstall.vbs <DIR\hostnames.txt> <Domain Name or Workgroup Name\username> <password> <apikey> <proxyserver:port> <proxyusername> <proxypassport>
